Overview

“My practice is driven by an awareness of ancient carving techniques and their connections to the body through ritualism and allegory." - Irena Posner

Hand carving is physically demanding, the material tests and shapes my body as much as she shape the stone; in consequence this haptic interaction becomes integral to her work. The resulting forms are playful and seductive explorations of feminine subjectivity.
