Irena Posner

Irena Posner is a sculptor based between London and Carrara, Italy. She graduated from a BA in Philosophy at University College London in 2008, and an MFA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2021. In the same year, she received the Gilbert Bayes Award from the Royal Society of Sculptors. She was shortlisted for Kenneth Armitage Sculptor Prize in 2022, and was awarded the Winsor & Newton Painting Prize in 2015.

 

She has undertaken multiple residencies including Way Out East (University of East London, 2022), Ponte Di Ferro (Carrara, Italy, 2022), Carusi Studios (Carrara, Italy, 2021), Portland Stone and Quarry Trust Residency (Weymouth, 2020), and the Tate Exchange Residency (Tate Modern, London, 2019).
